Only travelers and tourist can gamble in the casinos in the Bahamas. Residents and Citizens are not allowed to gamble. The residents and citizens are allowed to go into the casino but they are not allowed to “touch the tables”, so to speak. The legal age for gambling is 18 years old or older. Also persons who are work permit holders, dependants of person(s) holding a work permit or of any person having applied for residence or citizenship are not allowed to gamble.
There are two (2) casinos located in Grand Bahama. One located in the Our Lucaya Resort (Lucaya Area) and the other is located at the Royal Oasis Resort (Freeport Area). Sports betting are allowed in both casinos on any games that are happening anywhere around the world. However, this cannot be done by phone or fax or any other electronic device.
